There's no such thing as a cool helmet

Ok, this helmet looks pretty rough on it's own, but I'm not convinced it'll seem so hard core when someone puts it on..

THE letterknife

Will there ever be an other letter knife?

More cool products on Greece is for lovers.

Paradise City

Thomas Hawk takes some great photos and this one brought me right back to San Francisco and Taylor street. The picture shows 'the crooked street' and a bit to the left, towards the top you can see my old home in SF. It's the square apartmentbuilding with a vertical line of lit windows.

Skate with me, work with me..

Nice little video here from Dgeneration - Skate with me.

And then..

I got my new phone last week, the Sony Ericsson W960i. I love the phone, but it doesn't really love my Mac.

Basically all the fancy office functions and the seamless syncronizing and transferring of music, pictures and video, isn't so seamless anymore. But at the same time it's so much hazzle to return it and everything, so I have decided to make it an arranged marriage and hope that they work out their differences and learn to love eachother.

Don't post it - Pock It!

Put glue on three sides instead of one, and you've got product innovation.

Obey Shepard Fairey

Suddenly I missed the Kaospilots and San Francisco a lot. I was watching this interview with Shepard Fairey, the man behind Obey Giant, and it hit me right in the chest.

Here are some pictures of him, Linn and his girlfriend from the opening of an exhibition of his somewhere in SoMa (?).

After managing to lose the Obey print i bought at Shepard Faireys exhibition in SF, I'm planning to get my hands on the new one which is released on November 27th.

..and here's the interview

Two Golden Nuggets

Haakon just sent me a fantastic video. A Dutch supermarket celebrates it's shop lifter number 10.000!

And then Frode shared this little gem. Ricky Gervais little known past as a 'popstar'.

Let's get it on!

Oh, how I would've loved to be at this Maceo Parker concert. The part towards the end when bass player, Jerry Preston goes vocal is absolutely worth waiting for!

..and to go with the cool tunes, some cool shades. Oakley have made a limited collection of their classic 80's Oakley Frogskin.

I also like this idea. It's a msic player shaped like a drop. It contains one song which can only be played once.

These are both results of a cool german design concept.

A good evening

We're actually in the middle of it, but until now it's been a wonderful evening. After a frsh encounter with some german girls, Kaspar and I hooked up with a Nobel Peace Price nominee and ate dinner. Now we've changed into more sporty outfits and are waiting for some more company.

Bergen on fire

Yesterday was fantastic! My hometown Bergen's football team, Brann, won the national championship! The last time this happened was in 1963 and the last 44 years people have barely been talking about anything else.

The city was literally pulsating with people singing, screaming and drinking beer

All women have periods

They sure don't make informational material like they used to.. Very visual and truly amazing how openly you can talk about intimate things when you're explaining it to someone with Downs Syndrome.

Who said Phillipino inmates couldn't dance?

1500 guys from the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center practice dancing to "Thriller" by mister Jackson.

They also do Radio GaGa and some Sister Act routines..

Are you a criminal?

I don|t know if you've seen any of the stuff Derren Brown does, but it's pretty cool.

In this short episode he will try and make four people rob a money transport through subliminal suggestioning combined with some other techniques.

Very interesting (and entertaining).

My Bergen arrival and stuff

The Jo is back in town. After the graduation-translocation party party in Århus, Torhild and I had a quick stop in Bergen to drop off some stuff and have a beer before we went to the sea.

'The sea' is my parents summer house in the southern part of Norway (close to Mandal) and our time there was spent relaxing, eating good food, drinking good wine and hiking. The day before we drove to Oslo we also went to the zoo in Kristiansand where Julies (T11-Julie) cousin works. She showed us around the park, catched an intruding snake and we got to play with a King Python and a big, lizzard'ish thing with a blue tongue.

Oslo followed and was really nice. We met up with the priest who will wed Torhild and me on August 11th (did your priest smuggle money to Desmond Tutu during the Apartheid?), celebrated Hansas (Linns Hansa) 30th birthday, closed down my final project at the KP together with Rolf Arne (T11-Rolf-Arne. Wait there is only one Rolf Arne in the whole world) and met up with friends.

And now I'm back in Bergen to find out what I want to do with my life. This process involves a nice mixture of focused talks and free-your-mind-activities.

Pictures of my recent adventures will follow in a coming post. Now to some more random stuff.

1) Here are some pretty cool new Transformers T-shirts.

2) I just saw the video of Elton John singing in Dianas funeral. I never before noticed the impressive eye-brow-action he's got going on.. Special for the occasion? Is it chronic tear surpressing syndrome?

Google Maps Street View

I love this new google.maps-application. It's still a bit useless if you're not going to New York or one of the few other cities that have been added, but I thought it was great to take a virtual walk in my old San Francisco neighborhoods.

Try it with a decent connection and love it.

Speak - Sometimes people make a war

Wow. I can't get this song out of my head since i heard it a couple of weeks ago.

A Kaospilot indeed

I've finished my final written and oral exam at the KP and the only thing left before take-off is evaluation and the finishing ceremony on the 15th of June.

Cover of my final exam report on our project Innovation Battle

I wrote a little post on the last days at school on our friend-blog, den ytre sirkel. It's in Norwegian, but there's pictures if you don't get the language.

Photoshoot and cinematic experience

Rolf and I have delivered our written exam or project report and the 21st we're having our oral exam in Århus. We're leaving Amsterdam the 15th to celebrate May 17th in Bergen and Oslo.

These days we're preparing for our oral and trying to secure financing so that we can keep working on our project after we've finished the pilots. As a part of this we had a little photo shoot with Marit, Marit, Anna, Morten and Guro. Here are some excerpts.

Today Anna, Marit and I decided to go to the cinema. The film was Spiderman 3 - good stuff, highlight being the very nice and corny session in the middle where Peter Parker becomes cool. But the absolutely best part of the experience was the cinema itself. The Tushinski was built in 1921 and is pure Art Deco.

My good friend Pouria sent this link to me on facebook and it's simply too precious not to share.

What a smooth little operator.

Queens day and wonderful visit

Canal stroll right by our favorite record shop

Thursday, Gaute and Lars came to visit. We walked the streets, admired the canals, shopped for clothes and vinyl and partied like it was ninteen freakin ninety nine. Just wonderful.
Card night

Morten and Rolf dancing while Lars is rocking the drums in the basement of some random artists fantastic apartment.

Due to some bad planning, communication and emergencies, both Gaute and Lars left before Monday which was Queens day. This is the day where all Dutch people dress up in orange, jump in their boats, drink all their booze, play all their techno music and are allowed to sell all their stuff on the street. Very Dutch, very crazy and one day per twelve months is plenty.
Yes, there is a canal there somewhere.

A long and painful stay at Kastrup

Torgersen is back in Europe. After some fifteen - twenty hours of traveling, I'm now at Kastrup waiting for my plane to Amsterdam. Long journey.

I've had some fantastic days in Vancouver and Seattle, me and Torhild had a little bit of illness in our team the last week, but yesterday we shook it off and joined T12s tour de chambres. The themes were Christmas, baby shower, Team 11, Japan and mental institution. Here is some photo evidence and a couple of other pictures from before, after and in-between.
